Dorchester v Cambridge

17th December 2005

On a winter's day, that felt like July,
Our faith in Cambridge shall never die.
We love the U's forever more.
We love the U's - We're Buzz On Tour!

So off we ventured to Dorchester,
We knew it'd be a bit of a tester.
Could we progress into the 2nd round?
The U's of Cambridge are world renowned!

We went one up thanks to young Morro.
He is a U's star of tomorrow.

But soon our joy turned to sorrow…
And we all looked for a tissue to borrow.
Cos as Dorchester got their equalising goal,
We looked as shaky as a new-born foal.

We'd come all this way to Dorset…
To watch a game where we were horse sh*t!
As then the Magpies took the lead - their fans enjoyed.
Our new-born foal was all but destroyed.

There we were in a stand named Tesco.
Buzz, please sign that Hernan Crespo.

By the time the ref had blown for half way,
We already felt it wasn't our day.
The half time break lasted only 10 minutes,
Still enough time to make John Howard fillets.

The U's emerged in search of a come-back,
Or we hoped we'd at least get one back.
If we had scored to make it 2 each,
A replay on Tuesday would have been within reach.

But while draining believe like a blood-sucking leech,
Dorchester had a lesson to teach.

As the 2nd half continued unabated,
We stood in the crowd and mass debated.
We thought it was the low point of our season,
If you think of another - gimme a reason!

Soon any hopes began to disperse,
Could this season get any worse?
True enough, and right on queue…
They scored again to put them through.

We made 3 changes to change the game,
But the pattern of play remained the same.

But despite David Bridges scoring late,
The U's had earned their dreadful fate.
