Bristol City is from where Buzz's career grew,
when he made his debut in eighty-two.
He appeared twice at Wembley, the stadium was near-full.
He won the Freight Rover Trophy, and had a testimonial.

Buzz says he enjoyed this decade
before changing the team for which he played.
I do not jest when I say he moved from East to West,
Norwich provided a brand new test.
At six hundred grand, Buzz was a snip -
Norwich finished 3rd in the Premiership.

For the UEFA Cup Norwich qualified and beat Bayern Munich in a fine show.
Buzz was captain of the Norwich side that played Inter Milan at the San Siro.

While at Norwich Buzz dreamt of Hollywood, but did wonder who would employ.
Kevin Costner beat him to Robin Hood, but it was Disney who cast him as a toy.

He was proud to play a toy who thought he was a space-ranger
though he'd hoped for one of Shakespeare's plays.
Buzz thought he had been sent to save the Universe from danger,
`To Infinity and Beyond' became Lightyear's catchphrase.

Norwich gave him a choice, they were upset with his new-found fame.
“Continue acting or stick with the beautiful game.
If you choose your acting career, you will have no future here;
film is no place for Buzz Lightyear!”

Soon after, Buzz joined Southend. He had now turned thirty-four.
It was with them his future would depend, but Disney wanted more…

With Toy Story 2 Buzz resumed his role,
and though his catchphrase never changed,
saving Woody had become his new goal -
from a toy collector who was deranged.

Buzz was already a house-hold name,
and with kids he was on demand.
But then he shot to even further fame
with Buzz Lightyear of Star Command.

He had conquered Europe and was a star of film before he finally fulfilled his dream.
His ambition was to be the manager of England's greatest football team.

In 2005 his wish came true he looked at the Abbey and sighed,
"This club belongs back in league two", and he puffed out his chest with enormous pride.
